In the site of Selva dei Muli, located in the Sacco River Valley, relevant archaeological traces dating to the Copper Age have been unearthed by two different research teams at different times. Two main nuclei of finds and structures have been recognized. According to the Author of the latter excavations, these nuclei clearly differ both chronologically (two subsequent phases) and in terms of patterns of use of the area. In the first phase a ditched settlement was possibly located on the north-eastern slope of the hill. Then in the second phase the ditch was obliterated and the settlement also extended on the northern slope. In this paper the possibility that these two nuclei of finds are actually more integrated and belong to a single community is discussed.Downloads
