Abstract

This paper deals with a preliminary analysis of the Nuragic pottery dating between the Middle Bronze Age and the Late Bronze Age uncovered in the North-Western tower of the Nuraghe S. Pietro di Torpè (NU). The study of these finds, held by the writer as master thesis, allows to propose a functional interpretation of the north-western tower within the wider Nuragic complex of the S. Pietro Fortress, as well as that of the Nuraghe itself in the particular geographic area of Rio Posada. The chronological homogeneity and the frequency of certain ceramic classes and the presence of many forms typical of the domestic production, can in fact be read as an element of interest in reconstructing the different phases of the occupation of this site. The study of the pottery includes several comparisons found in several nuragic sites in order to establish the correct chronology and to suggest the use of the structure.
