The Grotta dei Banditi is a cave located in the Vena del Gesso Romagnola (a Miocenic Gypsum Geological Formation) near Brisighella. Excavations made in 1973 have revealed a thick stratum (from 1,30 to about 3 meters), in which have been found stratified hearths and abundant finds of the Early Bronze Age. The pottery may be assigned to an advanced – but probably not final – stage of this period, according with a 14C date (1890-1750 BC 1 ?).
