The paper summarized the main results of the extensive archaeology excavation in the prehistoric settlement of Provezza (Cesena). Different phases and several structures were identified, such large huts, activity areas, wells, ditches. The ceramic and the absolute chronology allow us to date the site at the IIIrd millennium B.C., between the middle-late phases of Chalcolithic and the beginning of Early Bronze Age. In the Early Bronze Age the strong link with the Eneolithic traditions is evidenced in the pottery shapes and decorations.
