Abstract

During the Bronze Age both the middle plain west of the Tagliamento river and the lowlands of Udine were marked by similar settlement dynamics. In the Early-Middle Bronze Age ephemeral occupation of some areas are documented and the distribution of several bronze finds in secondary position may reflect the launch of new routes across the Friuli plain. In the Recent Bronze Age, the lowlands experienced the diffusion of several contemporary villages, many of which aligned on the fluvial ridges. These appear to have been already abandoned in the last phase of the Recent Bronze Age.
